TLS Announced Winner of International Landscape Design Competition for Sanjianghui Levee in Hangzhou Future City Practice Area
TLS Landscape Architecture is announced winner of the International Landscape Design Competition for Sanjianghui Levee in Hangzhou Future City Practice Area. TLS was earlier selected as one of the five teams in May sponsored by the Hangzhou Sanjianghui Constrution Development Co., Ltd. The competition scope includes overall area of 3.63 square km, waterfront zone of 26km length, 140m width.
TLS suggests using 5 brushstrokes based on 5 wave types found locally in Hangzhou – Rough Wave, Tracing Wave, Crossing Wave, Washed Wave, and Layered Wave and transformed them each into creative topographies for the shoreline environment, which formed our name Wave Hills. Starting from the waves, the design reflects five distinct characters and five groupings of social, cultural, and ecological programs. Each character influences the adjacent territories but also takes inspiration from what exists there.
